About Me...
I'm Alex Bingham, and I have been conducting historical, archive and genealogical research for over 10 years.
Building on my first-class degree in History from Durham University, I've worked as a TV Researcher and Producer on history documentaries, including the BBC's BAFTA award-winning genealogy TV series Who Do You Think You Are? and Channel 4's My Grandparents' War.

I've also received training from probate genealogists Finders International (as seen on BBC One's Heir Hunters), equipping me with tools to trace living relatives.

I am now using these combined research, archive and story-telling skills to help others discover their family histories and unravel historical mysteries.

Treow Roots Research takes its name from the Old English word 'treow' (pronounced TRAY-oh), which means both 'tree' and 'fidelity', reflecting my commitment to the utmost historical accuracy in all of my research, as well as my love of a good pun.
